The Climate Collaboratorium is a global community of people developing plans for what we humans can do about global climate change.
One of the most important things you can do here is to vote for the plan you think is best. The current plans are summarized in the Plans page. To compare the details of different plans, just look at the tabs for various aspects of the plans such as human Actions, predicted Impacts, and Debates about the plan's advantages and disadvantages.
To vote for a plan, you'll first need to register (see box at the upper right corner of this window). Then go to the Plans page and click on the check mark in the "Vote for plan" column of the plan for which you want to vote.
If you see a better plan later, you can always change your vote at any time.
For more details, see How to view and vote for plans.
You can create new plans just to play around and see what the Impacts would be for different Actions we humans might take. And, if you create a plan you think might be better than any of the existing plans, you can "Publish" it for others to see and vote on.
To create a new plan, you'll need to register and then click the "Create a new plan" button here. After that, you can specify the actions for your plan by moving the sliders on the Actions tab. Whenever you want, you can click the "Run model" button at the bottom of the page and see the Impacts of your Actions.
To publish your plans for others to vote on, click the "Publish plan" link on the Administration tab for the plan.
For more details, see How to create new plans.
Each plan has a Discussion tab for discussions specific to that plan. There are also a number of general issues that arise repeatedly across different plans. To see the general issues that are relevant to a particular plan, go to the Summary tab for the plan, and click on the Positions the plan embodies.
You can also see the discussions for all the general issues by going to the Debates page.
In addition to the discussions themselves, some of the discussions also have Debate Summaries, maintained by Collaboratorium moderators, to concisely summarize the key issues, positions, and arguments in the discussions.
For more details, see How to view and participate in debates.
