Pitch
Use exhaust heat from internal combustion engine exhaust system to run a closed cycle Rankine Heat engine to make electrical power.
Description
Summary
Exhaust gases from internal combustion engines can exceed 1000 degrees F. Install evaporator section of a closed loop Rankine Engine in the exhaust stream to boil freon or ammonia. Use the freon or ammonia vapor to run a turbine/generator to make electrical power. After the freon or ammonia has done its work in the turbine it flows into the condenser where it is condensed back to a liquid again from deep cool well water between 50 and 60 degrees F as the cooling medium to be used over and over in a closed loop system as shown below.

Category of the action
Reducing emissions from electric power sector.
What actions do you propose?
Lower fuel costs per unit will prevent more Co2 from being emitted in the atmosphere. this will have direct impact on climate change. I study the idea daily and have found the idea can reverse many of the ill effects of climate change that fossil fuels are bringing us today such as Co2. SOX, NOX, particulate matter, smog, higher sea levels, higher sea surface temperatures, red tide, hypoxic oceans, lower PH levels in our oceans, coral bleaching, loss of Northern summertime arctic ice, Loss of the Antarctic Ice shelf, loss of albedo, skin cancer,Loss of Methane Hydrates, Melt of Arctic Tundra, lung cancer, war, heart attacks, stroke, asthma, loss of polar bears, sea lions, narwhals, walrus, krill, shrimp, rain forest's, soil moisture, more desertification and prevents fracking. etc. etc. etc. The governments "Climate Action Plan" would help fund the idea: http://www.whitehouse.gov/climate-change
Who will take these actions?
Major corporations can build these mandated by government laws that drive down the consumption of fossil fuels making us more energy self dependent. The governments "Climate Action Plan" would help fund the idea: http://www.whitehouse.gov/climate-change
Where will these actions be taken?
Can be used world wide.
How much will emissions be reduced or sequestered vs. business as usual levels?
5-10 years they can be built on site already. Can make internal combustion engines about 60% efficient instead of 37 % efficient.
What are other key benefits?
Can be used in remote locations around the world where available well water exists in sufficient quantities.
What are the proposal’s costs?
Perhaps a million dollars per unit with no negative side effects. Less fuel burnt is better for the environment.
Time line
5-15 years this technology can be implemented
