Roger Sathre is Chief Scientist at the Institute for Transformative Technologies in Berkeley, USA. He is responsible for ensuring the scientific rigor of the Institute's portfolio of breakthrough technologies to reduce global poverty.
He is also Adjunct Professor at Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden. As part of the Sustainable Built Environment research group, Roger compares alternate development pathways for energy systems, forest management and the built environment.
He is an Affiliate of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, USA. Formerly a Research Scientist at LBNL, Roger led prospective life-cycle system analysis of the environmental, energy and economic implications of eventual large-scale deployment of emerging technologies.
Roger worked for over a decade managing refugee relief activities in African countries including Angola, Mozambique and Sudan, where he was responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of emergency humanitarian efforts.
